Welcome to Bromley Bike Hotlaps. This is where we seperate the men from the boys! I'm sure you are familiar with the 'Star in a reasonably priced car' concept, well it's the same idea but on bikes! There will be two courses, Bedgebury Forest single track loop and the well known 'Barry knows Better' trail in Peaslake, Surrey.

How it's going to work
When at either of these popular riding venues go get warmed up and when ready put in a 'Hotlap' between the start and finish for each trail. Then when you get home proudly e-mail your time to the shop. All times will be displayed on the Hotlaps leader board on this page. It's up to you how many times you do this and if you try one or both locations. Make sure to send in a description of the trail conditions as this may help you out! ie. 'mildly moist' or 'Somme like mud'. At the end of the year the fastest two riders will be announced and the overall 'King of the mountains' will be crowned!

The Rules
This is a gentelmans race, there should be no cheating or dodgy times. Anyone sending in a time that is 'too good to be true' may be asked to proove it!

The prize
The greatest honor history can bestow is that of Hotlap winner. The title of 'King of the mountains' is second only to holding a set of Rainbow stripes and you may even get a sticker!

When does it start?
Right Now!!

Congratulations to Richard Driver our new Barry Knows Better leader!!!

The Hotlap locations and where to time

'Barry knows better' at Holmbury Hill This well known trail represents the downhill element of the King of the mountains title. The official run is as follows: Start timing with a standing start from the very big log next to the road, race right down to the new fence at the bottom of the trail. As soon as you get through the fence Stop!

Bedgebury Forest Singletrack. The Bedgebury singletrack represents the cross country element of the title. The official run is as follows: Ride up the fire track climb to the start of the SingleTrack loop. The start is marked by a big red flag. Start timing as soon as you go through the entrance to the trail. Keep pressing on all the way around the trail, you may need to pace yourself for your best time. At the very end of the Singletrack loop you go around a tight right hand uphill bend and a short sharp climb takes you to post number 123. Stop timing here!
